February 2017

I first started my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey at Paragon of Dallas in January of 2014. I first trained under Alex Martins do Nascimento and John Brink. I then followed Alex Martins  when he opened up his new gym and association, Alex Martins Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in February of 2015. This first started in Duncanville, TX and then AMBJJ at Oakfit in Dallas, TX. Alex Martins is a world champion competitor black belt under the Club Piña Association based in Manaus, Brazil where Alex Martins grew up.

Our lineage is: Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > Helio Gracie > Royler Gracie > Junor Cardoso > Alex Martins.

I am currently training under black belts, Alex Martins, Vin Abadie, and Lucas Pinhiero at AMBJJ at Oakfit.  Fundamental Classes (White Belts) are held nightly Monday through Thursday and are primarily taught by Alex Martins, Nick Messina and Michael Salazar, while kids classes are taught by Alex Martins, Lucas Pinheiro, Michael Salazar, and David Carbajal. They offer morning, noon and night classes to all adult levels Monday through Thursday and a competition class on Fridays. For kids classes, they are offered Monday through Thursday in the evening.  We have an active competition team which travels nationally and internationally to compete.

Everyone is more than welcome to come visit my gym and we have open mats every Sunday at 2 pm. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to try out a free week at my gym.

In addition to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Oakfit also offers strength and conditioning classes.
